Carson Tahoe's HopeFest 2020 fundraiser in final stretch, raffle winner to be announced Friday

This year, Carson Tahoe Health is celebrating an amazing milestone — the 10th anniversary of HopeFest! Ten years of celebration, ten years of hope and healing, ten years of community. Hopefest is CTH’s annual community-wide celebration that raises funds explicitly to support the critical needs of our local cancer patients and funding the no-cost Merriner Cottages.

Bunko for Breast Cancer to benefit Carson Tahoe Cancer Research Center Saturday

These odds, and the women and men it affects, is why BHGE has hosted Bunko for Breast Cancer since 2004 donating over $300,000 in support of the Carson Tahoe Cancer Resource Center.

Beyond the Pink: Speakers to discuss metastatic breast cancer this Sunday at Carson Tahoe

The statistics are staggering. Thirty percent of the people diagnosed with breast cancer go on to get metastatic breast cancer.

Metastatic beast cancer is an incurable disease. It is when breast cancer has spread beyond the breast, possibly to the lymph nodes or other organs in the body. Around 40,000 people a year in the US die from it. It is the advanced part of breast cancer and it is rarely discussed.

Music and hope in Carson City: Friday's 'HopeFest9' outdoor concert benefits cancer patients

Going into its 9th year, Carson Tahoe Health Foundation has brought together musicians and music lovers from throughout Northern Nevada and Lake Tahoe for a free summer concert celebration to raise money for area cancer patients. This Friday, HopeFest9 returns, with international platinum-selling singer-songwriter Eric Hutchinson and the Believers.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this time every year touches the heart of one of the teachers at CHS: Art teacher Mike Malley, whose mother is a breast cancer survivor, due to early detection, has decided to take breast cancer awareness to a new level by putting on a fundraising event Oct. 18 at the Trimmer Barn from 5 to 8 p.m.

Summit Cleaning Services Joins with Food For Thought to Combat Local Childhood Hunger

Starting Monday, April 18 until Mother’s Day, May 8, Summit Cleaning Services will donate 10 percent of their sales to Food For Thought to help combat local childhood hunger.

“Every year, we try to give back to the community in a real way,” said Stephen Jaenchen, owner of Summit Cleaning Services. In past years, Summit has helped support the NV Children’s Museum, the Carson Tahoe Cancer Resource Center, and the Ron Wood Family Resource Center.

Carson Valley's GE Bentley raises more than $215,000 for local breast cancer patients

The Carson Tahoe Health Foundation honored a group of employees from GE Bently Nevada and the Carson Valley Inn for their ongoing efforts in support of local cancer patients in need. Over the last 12 years, they have donated over $215,000 in funds raised in support of the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center, an affiliate of Huntsman Cancer Institute, University of Utah, during their annual GE Bunko for Breast Cancer event held at the Carson Valley Inn.
