The 22nd Annual Nevada Law Enforcement Officers Memorial ceremony was held Thursday, May 2 at the Capitol Mall in Carson City.

Two Nevada law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty were recognized Thursday in a ceremony with their names added to a memorial on the Capitol Mall in Carson City.

Carlos Montejana and Alyssa Butler of Carson City were awarded the first annual Rosemary Nebesky Memorial Scholarships by the Carson City Symphony Association last month.

Under rainy skies and the heaviness of a tragedy that wounded a community, law enforcement officers from around the state assembled at the state capitol grounds Thursday to pay tribute to Carson City Sheriff's Deputy Carl Howell, the 129th Nevada law officer to die in the line of duty.

The Carson High School Chamber Choir has been accepted to perform at the Anaheim Heritage Festival in southern California. They were very excited about the idea of performing in Disneyland. Once they were told of the costs of the trip you could see the dismay in many of their faces.

Hello, Carson City! The holiday season is in full swing with tree lightings, craft fairs, Santa sightings all around the area. The Silver and Snowflakes Festival of Lights will officially kick off Friday evening, Dec. 5 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the steps of the State Capitol in Carson City.

Now in its 25th year, the annual event is sponsored by the Carson City Redevelopment Authority as part of their efforts to showcase the downtown core and to bring families together to enjoy the advent of the holiday season.

The Annual Silver and Snowflakes Festival of Lights and Official Tree Lighting tonight, Friday, Dec. 5. is more than just flipping on the holiday lights in downtown Carson City; Santa, carolers, soup, hot chocolate, and ice skating all play a part in the fun.

It's a night the Carson High School Chamber Choir will remember forever. Twenty-four students joined classic rock band, Foreigner, on stage at the Silver Legacy to perform the band's number one hit, "I Want To Know"

The Carson High School Chamber Choir - the most advanced group of choir students at the high school - gave an impromptu, and much applauded, selection of Christmas and Hanukkah music to the surprised (and delighted) patrons and employees of the Department of Motor Vehicles this Thursday afternoon. This is the third year they have appeared at the DMV.
