Peace poster contest entries on display at Nevada Artists’ Association Gallery in Carson City
Local entries for the Lions International Peace Poster Contest are now on display at the Nevada Artists’ Association Gallery, 449 King Street, Carson City. The Gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Peace Poster entries will be on display at the Gallery until Oct. 22.
The Peace Poster Contest is an international contest that encourages children, ages 11 to 13, to creatively express what peace means to them. The 2021-2022 contest theme is “We Are All Connected.”
While overcoming new challenges brought on by an unprecedented global pandemic, Lions are celebrating the things that keep us connected — to each other, to our communities, all together around the world. This year, the Lions invited young people to envision, explore and visually express these connections.
The Carson City Host Lions will present the local contest winner a $50 stipend, and the winner will move up to the Lions’ District level for further competition. The International Grand Prize Winner receives a trip to an award ceremony where he/she will receive $5,000 and an award. 23 merit award winners will also be selected and each will receive $500.
