Carson City's Bank Saloon seeks artist to turn transformer box into aesthetic canvas

The Nevada Builders Alliance, owner of the Bank Saloon, has requested assistance by the Brewery Arts Center to solicit proposals from local artists to beautify the electric transformer box located at their property on the corner of Carson and 5th streets. The owners of the property are looking for designs that will go with the established aesthetic of both inside and outside of the bank saloon.

Crime Log: Man attempts to defraud Carson City bank

Carson City Sheriff's deputies arrested the following individuals for felony or gross misdemeanor allegations:

  • Steven Lewis Lisch, 32, a Santa Rosa, Calif. man, for a failure to appear warrant in his name and obtaining money under false pretenses. Lisch was also arrested for misdemeanor allegations of domestic battery. Lisch allegedly manipulated his girlfriend through threats of violence into attempting to cash a large fraudulent check at a US Bank in Carson City. Bail is set at $85,500 plus administrative fees.

Arrest made, cash recovered in Carson City bank robbery

On Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 0910 hours, the Sheriff's Office received a "hold up" alarm from the Nevada State Bank, at 4267 South Carson Street. The suspect was identified as an adult female who showed a handgun to the bank teller. The female presented a demand note, directing the teller to keep her hands where they could be seen and to put the money into a bag. The note also directed the teller to have other tellers move to one side together and keep their hands visible. The demand note read "Any mistakes and I start shooting"
