Nevada Humane Society: Season of Giving and Love

The last two weeks have been challenging. It’s making me struggle to find the meaning of this season. So I ask for your help despite the fact you may need to break out the tissues.
Seniors sought for National Youth Science Camp honors

Gov. Sandoval announces resignation of A.G. Burnett from Nevada Gaming Control Board

Chairman Burnett has announced plans to join law firm McDonald Carano. A replacement for Chairman Burnett will be named at a later date.

CTE graphic design student creates Carson City Parkinson’s Advocacy and Awareness logo

Having spent 20 years working at Carson High School, with the tail end of his career in the Career and Technical Education program, he knew Patricia Ababio’s graphic design III and IV students would be the perfect choice.
Carson City Sheriff Furlong names Ken Sandage as New Undersheriff

Mr. Sandage will assume the duties and responsibilities vacated by retiring Undersheriff Steve Albertsen. Ken Sandage, a decorated 26 year veteran with the Sheriff’s Office, has held the executive administrative position of Assistant Sheriff since August 22, 2014.

His appointed in January 2003 peaked a law enforcement career in Carson City and with the Nevada Department of Public Safety, culminating in 36 years of enforcement experience.

Many amazing opportunities are going on in the CHS school library. The CHS Library is piloting the Nevada Teacher-Librarian Evaluation framework and transitioning from a “library” to a collaborative learning commons.
