Here we go, Carson City, it is Tuesday, April 16, 2019. Another mixed bag of weather around the capital city today, with mostly cloudy skies and a few showers in the morning and then mostly sunny later in the afternoon with daytime highs in the upper 50s. Not bad for a spring day.

Sure it's tax day and all and sure the weather outside is expected to be windy with a chance of showers. But these shouldn't shake your enthusiasm for another awesome day in our great capital city. Good morning Carson City, and happy Saturday! Today is a day that will definitely feel like Spring, with temperatures almost to 70 degrees. The low tonight will be 36, reminding us that we haven’t shirked off the cold weather entirely just yet.

On the docket today we’ve got the Wine Walk at the Carson Mall, a Downtown Easter Egg Hunt, an Anniversary Party at Browser’s Bookstore, easter bunny photos, and more!

Headed into Thursday, April 11, 2019 we welcome Carson City to another day where weather forecasters say there's a chance of rain and maybe even a few snow showers mixed in. Beyond the weather we're looking at a blockbuster day and night filled will activities throughout town. From library presentations, a TV show casting call at the Carson Nugget, an afternoon hike, to a train history presentation, a book signing at the Brewery Arts Center, a CHS theater performance and the Carson City movie screening premier of "The Mustang" filmed at the historic Nevada State Prison, there's something for everyone. The Capital City Arts Initiative announces its exhibition, Creative Spark, at the Community Development Building, also known as the Brick, 108 E Proctor Street, Carson City.

Thirty-two students from Carson, Dayton, Douglas, and Pioneer high schools have work in the exhibit. CCAI will host a reception for the artists on Wednesday, April 10, 5 to 6:30 p.m.

National Weather Service forecasters say it will be a breezy day with some rain. But don't let that dampen your day as there's art showings, live music and hilarious comedy venues at the Brewery Arts Center and Carson Nugget.

As matters at the legislature continue, we are winding up for another weekend full of activities, including the downtown wine walk and a bevy of shows at the Brewery Arts Center. There is a Winter Weather Advisory until midnight for the west slope of the Sierra. Today in town we have events that range from a Carson High School team fundraiser to movies to politics to fitness. Well the weekend sure went fast as we say goodbye to March. Now we're heading into Monday, April 1, 2019 where pranks, larks and tom foolery are orders of the day. No fooling when it comes to the weather though. We may see a slight chance of showers in the afternoon and evening with more of a chance of rain on Tuesday. Stay tuned.

On Tuesday, March 26, the Capital City Arts Initiative (CCAI) will present a public talk, "The Lilley", by the University of Nevada, Reno, curator Paul Baker Prindle.

The event is part of CCAI’s ongoing Nevada Neighbors speakers’ series and will take place at 6pm at the Brick, 108 E Proctor Street, Carson City.

There will be an informal reception for Baker Prindle preceding the event at 5:30pm. No tickets needed; the public is cordially invited.

Every other year, Nevada Humanities honors the achievements of individuals and organizations from across the Silver State that foster cultural enrichment and deepen our understanding of the of the human experience by facilitating opportunities for Nevadan’s to engage with the humanities.
