Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region to help the next three days breeze by. Activities around the capital city include a meeting of the Board of Supervisors, a Muscle Powered hike at Silver Saddle Ranch, a rally at the legislative building, modern western square dancing lessons, art showings, library activities and more. It's that spooky time again, when the leaves begin to fall, Nevada Day is gearing up to bring us the best parade in the state, and our little ghouls and goblins are putting together their terrifying and adorable costumes in preparation for sugary chaos.

While haze from nearby Sierra fires may linger some, we're looking at another pleasant fall day around the capital city heading into Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019. Events locally include a ribbon cutting and outdoor moving showing at the new Schulz Ranch Park, workshops, a women's safety meeting, a pumpkin patch for kids at Carson Mall, plus art showings and public talks. After hours it will be toasts, cheers and business networking all around at the Dayton Taphouse. Enjoy the day.

Heading into Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019, it will be a busy day ahead around the capital city including a Carson City Chamber of Commerce luncheon with Nevada's chief economist, a GOP Women's Club luncheon with Nevada State Senator James Settelmeyer, Sierra Lutheran will host its 7th and 8th Grade Visitation Day, plus a morning walk, evening hike with Muscle Powered, archery at Centennial Park, art night at the library and more. The first day of the work week is deadline day to get nominations in for the Carson City Carson City 2019 Mayor's Arts Awards. Events around the capital city include a luncheon with Lt. Governor Kate Marshall, the second of a six-week standup comedy class, art showings, West Coast swing dancing and more.

Oct 15 – Riverview Park. Meet at the Korean Memorial parking area at the east end of 5th Street, 600 Marsh Road.

The Carson City Board of Supervisors will be hosting their upcoming meeting on Thursday, October 17 beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Sierra Room of the Community Center, located at 851 E. William Street.

Though efforts have been made through the years to improve this perception, child welfare is still a system of laws that, by their very nature, are unfeeling.

Going into the last day of the month, Monday, Sept. 30, 2019 around the Carson City area and it looks to be quite chilly in the morning and then warming up some into the afternoon.
