RENO – The National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ) has elected Dr. Robert A. Simon to the Board of Directors.

Mr. and Mrs. Boree had a real estate business in Florida in 2002. They bought 1,892 acres of vacant land, borrowing most of the money to make the purchase. They did various development actions and requests for changes in zoning and subdivided the land from Jan. 2003 through 2006.

RENO, Nev. — The National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges has elected Joe Asher, chief executive officer of William Hill US, to the Board of Directors.

“We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Asher to the Board,” said Judge Katherine Tennyson, NCJFCJ president. “Mr. Asher will bring strong leadership and creativity to the NCJFCJ. Giving the community one last chance to hear and meet the candidates for mayor and supervisor prior to the start of early voting, the Carson City Chamber is holding a Candidate’s Forum at the Gold Dust West on Monday, Oct. 17.

(Reno, Nev.) – The National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ) has released its resolution on reducing the use of solitary confinement for youth. No research exists that indicates solitary confinement reduces behavioral incidents or improves the safety of facilities. The NCJFCJ recognizes that juvenile court judges have a responsibility to care for and protect youth within their jurisdiction and therefore supports a presumptive rule or policy against solitary confinement of youth, except when absolutely necessary for the safety of the youth, others or the facility.
