Silver Saddle Ranch to host annual Pancake Breakfast Sept. 21

The Friends of Silver Saddle Ranch invite you to the annual Pancake Breakfast Saturday, September 21st. A guided Bird Walk starts the day at 7 a.m.

At 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and Noon, a short presentation on the history of Silver Saddle will be at the Red House.

Come enjoy a beautiful Saturday morning at the historic Silver Saddle Ranch.

Birds, beavers and bears: Wildlife awareness talk and walk featured at Spooner Lake

LAKE TAHOE, Nev. — Birds, beavers and bears, oh my! Join the Nevada Department of Wildlife’s Urban Wildlife Coordinator to learn about the animals that call Spooner Lake home and how they play a role in the Lake Tahoe Basin. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet a Karelian Bear Dog.

Bundle up, Carson City. We aren’t afraid of a little wind, are we? The Dangberg Home Historic Ranch is celebrating our infamous Washoe Zephyr this weekend with kite making, demonstrations, and more. The Friends of the Silver Saddle Ranch would love to see you at their open house on Saturday; if you’re an early riser, join them on a 7 a.m. bird walk. The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is hosting their annual Cops and Kids Open House, so head to the courthouse for some fun.

Every week (for the last two years) I have scoured the internet, followed the pages of local businesses and organizations, searched website calendars, and compiled a list of anything and everything going on in this community.

Annual Breakfast at Silver Saddle Ranch

Friends of Silver Saddle Ranch - Annual Ranch Breakfast is scheduled for this Saturday.

Come on down Saturday morning, Oct. 4 to Silver Saddle and enjoy a ranch breakfast of pancakes and bacon. A morning bird walk will start before breakfast. Bird nest box staining and installation will be available throughout the morning for those interested.

Silver Saddle Ranch Breakfast & Bird Walk

Silver Saddle Ranch is offering a ranch breakfast to the community on September 28, 9:00am-12:00pm. Members of Friends of Silver Saddle Ranch are free and a $5 donation for nonmembers. Children 10 and under are $3.

A bird trip will precede the breakfast, starting at 7:30am. Everyone is welcome. We will be exploring agricultural fields, the Carson River corridor and sagebrush habitats for a variety of resident and migratory species.
