Silver Saddle Ranch to host 2018 Spring Open House
Spring has finally arrived and it's that wonderful time again for the annual Silver Saddle Ranch Open House. Located in southeast Carson City off of Carson River Road, the working ranch encompasses 703 acres that run along the east and west bank of the Carson River.
The Silver Saddle Ranch was acquired for its combination of recreation potential, unique natural resources and its strategic location as a natural bridge connecting the Pine Nut Mountains and the Prison Hill Recreation Area. The vegetation varies from cottonwood trees and willows along the riparian corridor to the irrigated pasture fields and sagebrush uplands.
Ranch volunteers welcome all to the May 19 event. The bird walk runs from 7 to 11 a.m., and then special guests, Valkyrie and Svanah The Dineen Mules, will be there from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Other activities include Kids to Park Days hosted by Carson City Parks and Recreation.
So be sure to drop by and enjoy a beautiful day at the Silver Saddle Ranch.
