Carson City’s Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada unveils new mural by artist Zet Gold

A new mural has been unveiled in Carson City at the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada by artist-in-residence Zet Gold, who is based from Las Vegas. The Nevada Art Council commissioned the mural for the club, which was finished in a week along with a smaller mural on the windows of the teen center.

Vegas Culture on the Rise

On Wednesday, October 18, the Capital City Arts Initiative [CCAI] will present a talk by curator Michele Quinn. Her illustrated talk, "Vegas Culture on the Rise", is part of CCAI’s ongoing Nevada Neighbors series and will take place at 7pm at the Community Development building [the Brick], 108 E Proctor St, Carson City. There will be an informal reception for Quinn preceding the event at 6:15pm. The presentation and reception are free, and the public is cordially invited.

Marielle Toll Among Spring Resident Artists in Silver City, Nevada

SILVER CITY, Nev. — Each year, the Resident Artist Program in Silver City hosts at least one emerging artist, in addition to hosting established artists. This year, Marielle Toll, a multi-talented emerging artist, was awarded a residency in the "emerging artists" category. At 18 she is already showing remarkable skill and talent in photography, illustration, and web site design.

Tahoe Peace Concert brings celebration to Sand Harbor

Award winning performers from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Santa Cruz, Reno and Tahoe will grace the stage for Trails and Vistas World Concert at Sand Harbor State Park at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 6.

The World Concert, an original blend of diverse musicians, aerialists and dancers, is produced by Trails and Vistas, a Truckee, CA-based nonprofit organization dedicated to producing inspiring art events in nature, in collaboration with the Truckee Tahoe Peace Project.
