Award winning jewelry artist Suzy Musil will teach a Beading Workshop on Sunday, February 25th, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the NAA Gallery!

Piper Johnson and Susan Watson are partnering up to host a three day/three night art retreat at St. Mary’s Art Center in Virginia City. Painters are welcome to choose oil painting in plein air, acrylic abstracts in the studio, or try both!

St. Mary’s Art Center has been home to art retreats and art classes since 1964. Located in the beautiful, historic 1876 former hospital, this Comtock gem is the perfect location to relax, learn, create, and connect.

All levels of painting experience are welcome; some painting experience recommended.

The Brewery Arts Center in Carson City is adding a sculpture class to their expanding repertoire of art classes by partnering with master sculptor Debbie Corona of the Carson Valley Mobile Art Center to create a six-week sculpture workshop.

The Resident Artist in Silver City is delighted to announce that Angelia Leal will be one of the Program’s three summer visiting artists.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the final V&T Railway train rides of the 2019 season, the 27th annual Carson City Pumpkin Patch at Seeliger Elementary School, fundraisers around town, coin press demonstrations at the Nevada State Museum, comedy at the Carson Nugget and more!

Going into the last day of the month, Monday, Sept. 30, 2019 around the Carson City area and it looks to be quite chilly in the morning and then warming up some into the afternoon. Events include a luncheon with Nevada's State Treasurer Zach Conine, an art class and showings, West Coast swing dancing, and more. Enjoy the day.

It could be the last hot day for a while, at least until a freak 90s+ hot day in November followed by a week long blizzard, so enjoy it while it’s here!

Have fun with Improv! We will use games, team-building exercises and basic improvisational acting structures. No experience necessary. Students will gain confidence on stage, employ public speaking skills, think quickly on their feet and create fun scenes out of thin air. They will put on a show for their families and friends during the last class.

Heading into the evening, “Newsies” will take stage at the Carson City Community Center and you can sit under the stars and watch “The Little Rascals” at 8 p.m. during movie night at John Mankins Park.

Come and join Rachael and Debbie Lambin of My Thousand Words this Saturday, June 29 as they teach you to make a beautiful flower vase that is both 3D as well as 2D.

Students will make paper flowers (3D) and paint a vase to put them in on a canvas lots of fun! The event is from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Western Nevada College's Carson City campus, second floor of the Aspen Building.

As we head into a jam-packed Memorial Day weekend, activities and events around Carson City on Friday will help set the mood for what promises to be a tremendous few days ahead. Did you ever want to create really cool things out of books? Once read, they sit on a shelf and start to collect dust. Why not learn what Debbie and Rachael of My Thousand Words have created. They will be teaching you a few designs that they have made and sold in galleries throughout the northwest and across the country. Participants can choose one class or all of them! They are the 2019 Artown Poster designers!

Hello Carson City and welcome to Thursday, April 18, 2019. Another day of sunshine and warm temperatures are ahead. We've got a mixed plate of activities lined up today including art showings, a poetry reading, day hike, live music and more. Enjoy the day.

A new mural has been unveiled in Carson City at the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada by artist-in-residence Zet Gold, who is based from Las Vegas. The Nevada Art Council commissioned the mural for the club, which was finished in a week along with a smaller mural on the windows of the teen center.

Pinch Pot Wine Glass: In this class you'll be using your creative energy to make a drinking vessel with clay. We will be hand building our vessels pinch-pot style and adorning them with our own unique symbolism and creative flair! Once fired, these magnificent works of art will be both beautiful and functional. In this fun 3D Illusions Art Class with Maria Segura, children’s art instructor & artist, we learn the techniques of how Artists create a 3D Illusion on paper using a variety of pencils and markers. We will also have fun creating Pop-Up Art!
