Andrew, better known as Andy, was born on his family’s ranch in Yerington, Nevada. He was the fourth of five children of Albert “Burr” and Marion, including Al, Fred, Madeline and Mary Lou.

Andy enjoyed his upbringing in Yerington, making friends, working on ranches, playing football, excelling in scholastics and having more than his share of fun. His accolades from high school included being elected Governor of Boys State and later being inducted into the Yerington High Football Hall of Fame.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Nevada annual luau raises highest amount in 25-year history

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada’s annual Luau raised 18 percent of the Club’s annual operating budget for the year, the highest amount in the event’s 25-year history. BGCWN operates five sites in Carson City and the Carson Valley, serving more than 2,600 children, with an operating budget of $2 million.

Justice of the Peace Candidate Ryan Russell receives Endorsement

The Carson City Sheriff’s Supervisory Association has endorsed Ryan Russell for Carson City Justice of the Peace, Department 2.

Membership of the CCSSA is comprised of sergeants, lieutenants and captains of the Carson City Sheriff’s Department. Association President Jim Primka says members voted this month on the endorsement. “We are proud to support Ryan Russell in his campaign for Justice of the Peace” he said.
