Carson City arrests: Man jailed for allegedly threatening couple with pocket knife
A 33-year-old man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of two counts assault with a deadly weapon following an incident involving a pocket knife, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
John Vigneault of Gardnerville was taken into custody at 1:15 p.m. by authorities in Douglas County after an attempt to locate him was issued through the Carson City Sheriff's Office.
The incident happened in the 4000 block of Furnace Creek Dr. According to the arrest report, the two victims told deputies the suspect produced a pocket knife during a dispute and ran toward them chasing them from the street onto the grass at their residence.
The victims told deputies they thought the suspect was going to kill them. A deputy on scene at the residence issued an attempt to locate request and Vigneault was located within two hours by a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputy. Total bail: $40,000.
— A 48-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 10:51 a.m., on the corner of Carson and Long Street on two separate Carson City warrants. Jennifer Moose was booked on a felony warrant alleging malicious destruction of property and DUI first offense and also alleging misdemeanor criminal contempt. Total Bail: $15,500.
— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, around noon, on the corner of N. Stewart and E. John streets after Carson City sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic dispute in the 100 block of Corbett Street. Stephen Morse was found to have an active felony Parole and Probation hold.
— A 37-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 3:00 a.m., at 20 College Parkway on warrant for misdemeanor damage to bicycle or vehicle ($250-plus). According to the arrest report, CCSO deputies responded to a reported domestic battery. While speaking with the woman Carson City dispatch informed the officer about the warrant. Bail: $2,500.
— A 29-year-old Carson City man and 30-year-old Carson City woman were arrested Saturday, 6:37 p.m., on the corner of Curry Street and Koontz Lane. The 29-year-old man was arrested for misdemeanor open container (Bail: $190) and the 30-year-old female, Stephanie Smokey, was arrested for felony probation violation and misdemeanor open container. She provided a preliminary breath test of .031. Parole and probation advised deputies to arrest her for violation of probation terms.
— A 28-year-old Silver Springs man was arrested Saturday, 11:42 a.m., at the Carson City Jail, on a confirmed misdemeanor Carson City warrant for contempt of court. Bail: $341.
— A 31-year-old Reno man was arrested Sunday, 6:48 p.m., in the 2700 block of S. Carson St. for a misdemeanor bench warrant out of Sparks. Bail: $940.
