Carson City sheriff's arrest log: Woman jailed on felony drug charge

A 49-year-old Modesto woman was arrested Monday on suspicion of felony drug possession after methamphetamine was recovered during a consented search, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Stacy Lynde Giffen was arrested at 1:43 p.m. in the 1000 block of North Carson Street. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the area in response to a domestic dispute. Before officers arrived dispatch advised the woman left in a blue Dodge Charger and the man had left on foot.
A deputy made contact with the woman, who stated she and her husband had been arguing. The woman appeared very agitated and talked fast. The vehicle she had been driving was not registered to her nor did she have a bill of sell in her possession. The woman stated she had just bought the vehicle, according to the arrest report.
A deputy asked the woman if he could conduct a K9 sniff of the vehicle. The woman consented. As the deputy began the K9 sniff the woman stated “there is meth in there,” according to the arrest report. The officer asked where the meth was, and she stated that it was in her purse. Deputies located the drugs in her purse along with a glass pipe commonly used to meth, under the passenger seat. She was arrested. Bail: $3,637.
In other arrests: A 37-year-old Fallon woman was booked into Carson City Jail on four misdemeanor warrant charges including two counts failure to appear for traffic court and two counts criminal contempt. The warrants were issued out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $2,100.
