Carson City arrests: Man allegedly drives stolen car through adult store, steals sex toys

A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested for multiple felony and misdemeanor offenses after driving a stolen vehicle through an adult gift store and stealing merchandise.

Cesar Lopez-Altamirano was arrested Dec. 11 at 11:52 p.m. following an investigation in which video surveillance showed the man driving a stolen vehicle through the front door of the Adam and Eve store in the 3200 block of Highway 50 East, stealing merchandise and leaving the store with the vehicle having damage.

Video shows the suspect crash into the store, exit the vehicle, and then running over to the counter and grabbing adult toys. The video shows him running back to the vehicle, where he attempted to back out of the store, according to the booking report.

However, the driver door became wedged on the door jam, where the suspect then put the vehicle into drive and pulled further into the store, the report states. As the front of the vehicle exited the door jam, the bumper got caught and ripped off of the vehicle.

The suspect then fled and traveled southbound on Airport Road where he was located by a Carson City Sheriff's Office sergeant who conducted a traffic stop, which subsequently led to his arrest.

He was booked for the following offenses, suspicion of felony grand larceny of a motor vehicle, commercial burglary, false identification to avoid prosecution, possession of stolen property; gross misdemeanor destruction of property and three misdemeanor failure to appear warrants. Bail amount is $25,000 bondable, plus $9,000 cash for the contempt of court warrants.

Two were arrested early Sunday for suspicion of multiple felony offenses, including child abuse/neglect, drug and firearm offenses. Avery Charles Aubrey, 40, and Elizabeth Nichole Harrison, 32, were taken into custody following an investigation. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to a Spooner Drive residence.

Officers arrived and interviewed Avery and Harrison separately and learned Harrison used a Glock 19 9mm and shot at the man, her ex-boyfriend, following a dispute. In the dispute she said he kicked in the door of the residence they shared. She advised she asked him to leave and he would not and shot at a wall near him. The woman's two children were home at the time, inside the master bedroom of the residence, the booking report states.

Deputies located a bullet hole on the east wall of the residence. After attempting to discover the bullet's trajectory, officers asked Harrison for consent to search the residence for shell casings. The woman denied consent to search and a search warrant was requested and granted by a Carson City judge, the arrest report states.

Deputies located suspected methamphetamine on a night stand near the master bedroom door, three scales inside the master bedroom, paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine in a closet inside the master bedroom of the residence.

Harrison was arrested for suspicion of discharging a firearm into a structure, child abuse/neglect physical or mental harm, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and possession of a controlled substance. Bail: $25,000.

Aubrey was arrested for suspicion of being in possession of a firearm by an ex-felon, child abuse, neglect causing physical or mental harm, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor assault. Bail: $40,000.

— A 28-year-old Carson City man, Eric James Stringham, was arrested at Carson City Jail on Dec. 11 for possession with intent to sell a controlled substance, methamphetamine. The drugs were discovered in a vitamin bottle. He was also booked for possession of a controlled substance, fentanyl. Bail: $22,500.

— A 69-year-old Los Gatos, Calif., man was arrested Saturday for multiple drug offenses, a Carson City Sheriff's Office arrest report states.

Michael Haroutun Miroyan was taken into custody at 1:05 a.m. for suspicion of three counts possession of a controlled substance, three counts possession for sales, and possession/sale of identifying information, all felony offenses, as well as misdemeanor harassment and impeding traffic.

According to the arrest report, a Carson City sheriff's deputy observed a vehicle stopped in a travel lane with a woman on the sidewalk and the man, Miroyan, in front of the vehicle.

The officer made contact with the male who immediately wanted to leave. The officer conducted pat downs of both the male and female for weapons and the man was asked to sit on the curb. He became slightly argumentative, the report states. After being asked three times to sit, he did. The officer asked the man what was going on. The man said he was being a nice samaritan and seeing if she needed a ride.

The officer asked for the man's identification. The man told the officer it was in the glovebox and would not let the officer retrieve it. The officer asked him to get it and explained to him that he would watch him as he grabbed it. The man opened the passenger door and began to block the officer's view, the report states.

The deputy told the man to sit back down and move away from the vehicle. The suspect was attempting to delay moving and was given another verbal command to move. The officer told the man to sit on the curb and asked him for his name. The male provided his name, Michael Miroyan, and explained that he had a suspended driver's license out of California for not having an interlock device.

The deputy did a records check and while waiting for returns from dispatch, deployed K9 Cash to sniff the exterior of the vehicle. The dog provided a positive alert.

The deputy spoke with the woman, who explained she was walking home from a bar when the man began to follow her as she walked on the sidewalk. She explained she was in fear and continued to walk and said the man wouldn't leave her alone after she asked him to.

The deputy spoke with the man and advised him the dog alerted positive on the exterior of the vehicle and asked him if there was anything illegal. He said no. He was then asked why he was following the woman. He said he was concerned for her safety and was seeing if she needed a ride home, the report states.

Other deputies arrived on scene and conducted a probable cause search on the vehicle. Inside the officer located three glass meth pipes, a small cloth pouch with a crystal substance inside, that weighed 6.8 grams. The man was placed under arrest.

Officer conducted a search of his person and located two hard plastic cases in his coin pocket with a crystal like substance broken up. One weighed 5.8 grams and the other 6.5 grams.

Also in the man's left coat pocket was a methamphetamine pipe. Also located was a larger glass jar that had a crystal like substance, which weighed approximately 57.4 grams. Also, later located was a plastic container with a crystal substance inside the man's sock that weighed 12.6 grams. During a vehicle search deputies located 32 grams of a black sticky substance, and 14 grams of suspected heroin, the report states.

Officers also located mail and a California driver's license that didn't belong to him, along with suspicious items such as hammers, duct tape, wigs and sex toys, the report states. Bail: $40,000.

While staying at the enchanting Renaissance recently, I had a view of the Truckee River, and a half dozen homeless folks dwelling there on her silent shores. They pretty much kept to themselves until a gregarious gentleman came along with something to eat that he passed out to one after another until they were all up and around on the riverbank, bargaining and trading with what little they had to offer. This was quite possibly their main meal for the day, and they were exhibiting great gladness in celebrating it.
