Carson City and Lake Tahoe area road report through Dec. 21
Here is the Carson City area road report for the week of Dec. 15-21, 2014: There will be restricted lanes on E. Fifth Street between Country Village Drive and Parkland Avenue from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Two-way traffic will be maintained. Please use caution.
The following sidewalk closures are scheduled to occur during daytime hours Monday through Friday:
— The west side of Carson Street between Proctor Street and Telegraph Street.
— The north side of Proctor Street between Carson Street and Curry Street.
Work in the Lake Tahoe Basin is suspended for winter. There are other Caltrans work projects slated this week outside the basin in the Sierra and foothills.
State Route 28 (Placer County): Utility work continues on Placer County’s $50 million Kings Beach Commercial Core Improvement Project from State Route 267 to Chipmunk Street. The project is installing curb and gutter, sidewalks, roundabouts, lighting and drainage systems to enhance pedestrian and bicycle mobility, improve safety and provide water-quality improvements.
U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $15.1 million project to replace the bridge over Sly Park Road in Pollock Pines. The project will also add sidewalks to both sides of Sly Park Road, curb and gutter and curb ramps. Completion is expected by the end of the year.
Dec. 15-20: U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Bullion Bend Road to Sly Park Road: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect the Sly Park Road ramp closures from 7 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Saturday and alternating lane closures around the clock from midnight Monday to 4 p.m. Friday for punch-list work to finish this project. Motorists also can expect Sly Park Road to be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Saturday.
U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $57 million project by El Dorado County to construct a new overcrossing over U.S. Highway 50, new on- and off-ramps with signalized intersections, and new bicycle and pedestrian facilities at Silva Valley Parkway in El Dorado Hills.
State Route 28 (Placer County) from National Avenue to Agatam Avenue West: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday for utility work.
U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at the junction with State Route 89: Motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday for utility work.
State Route 193 (El Dorado County) from Greenwood Road to Clark Street: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for tree trimming.
Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Brace Road to Magra Road: Work continues on a $36 million project to increase the vertical clearance of nine bridge structures in south Placer County to 16 feet, 6 inches. The vertical clearance will be increased on six structures by lifting the existing bridge deck and the other three will have the roadway below dug down.
State Route 49 (Nevada County) from Cameo Drive to just south of Lime Kiln Road: Northbound motorists can expect the right shoulder closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday for utility work.
Interstate 80 (Placer County) at Taylor Road in Roseville: Westbound motorists can expect the on-ramp closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday for a city maintenance operation.
Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Applegate Road to Dry Creek Road: Westbound motorists can expect alternating lane closures from 11 a.m. Monday to 3 a.m. Tuesday for electrical work.
