A 49-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly threatening a maintenance man with a knife at a North Carson Street RV park, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Taylor Saarem, Nicolaus Salm and Megan Tingle of Carson High School were honored as the 2017 Nevada Parent Teacher Association’s Battle Born Scholarship Winners. Both Saarem and Salm earned $500 scholarships while Tingle earned the highest $1,000 scholarship. Students from Carson City Made up nearly half of the 2017 winners — only seven candidates in the state were awarded scholarships.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division is asking for help in identifying suspects in multiple credit card fraud investigations.

The Silver Rush, a new 4,159-foot long zip line opening this summer at Heavenly's Epic Discovery, will take users from tree-to-tree at speeds up to 40 miles per hour. Overlooking the Carson Valley, Silver Rush is comprised of five segmented zip lines; the final of which flies guests over the waters of East Peak Lake.

A man with an out of state felony warrant was arrested early Monday morning in the 700 block of South Carson Street, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
