Lyon County Human Services and Sheriff’s Office move into new Silver Springs Building
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and Lyon County Human Services are moving into their new building at 620 Lake Avenue in Silver Springs, County Manager Jeff Page said Tuesday.
In July 2015 the Board of Commissioners approved the $580,000 purchase of the building from Clean-Dried Processing. Lyon County spent an additional $494,424 to remodel the interior to meet the needs of both departments.
The building is 6,800 square feet with 86,609 square feet of parking and room for expansion. The building will house the Patrol Division for Silver Springs, Narcotics Division, Detective Division, LCSO Command staff as well as providing holding cells for arrestees. The Human Services Administration and Support staff will be headquartered at this facility as well.
County Manager Page expressed that Lyon County is pushing toward one stop operations for the general public. This move will eventually reduce the number of county operated buildings by three thus improving efficiency with maintenance and custodial services.
