Carson City Clerk’s Office Reminds Voters to Verify Their Voter Registration Information

The Carson City Clerk's Office would like to remind all Nevada voters to verify their voter information and registration. The 2022 Primary Election will be held June 14, 2022. The State of Nevada is a closed primary state.

A closed primary means if you are affiliated with the Democratic or Republican party on your Voter Registration Application, you may vote for candidates from your affiliated party and nonpartisan contests.

If you are affiliated with a party other than Democratic or Republican, you may vote only in nonpartisan contests.

The ballot style you receive will be for the party affiliation (if any) you selected on your most current Voter Registration Application. (NRS 293.257 (3)).

The Carson City Clerk’s office would like to remind voters to verify their voter registration information is current.

To update or verify your existing voter registration information, you may do one of the following:

Visit RegisterToVote.NV.gov. Your driver’s license and last four of your social security number will be required to access your registration information.

If you reside in Carson City, contact the Carson City Clerk’s office directly at (775)885-2087.

If you do not reside in Carson City, please contact your local County Clerk or Registrar of Voters.

The passage of AB321 (81st Legislative Session) mandates all active registered voters to be mailed a mail ballot.

These mail ballots may not be forwarded.

If you know you will be out of town for the June 14, 2022 Primary Election, please visit www.carson.org/elections to download the Mail Ballot Preference Form and return the form to the Carson City Clerk’s office or the Clerk/Registrar’s office where you reside.

If you will be voting in person and DO NOT wish to receive a mail ballot, please visit www.carson.org/elections to download the Mail Ballot Preference Form to opt out of receiving a mail ballot.

Return the completed form to the Carson City Clerk’s office or the Clerk/Registrar’s office where you reside.

Please note, the deadline for the Clerk or Registrar’s office to receive the Mail Ballot Preference form to opt out of receiving a mail ballot is 60 days prior to the Primary Election. Please contact the Clerk’s office at (775) 887-2087 with questions.
