Families sought for annual Christmas Eve visit by Santa through Carson City Sheriff's Reserves
Organizers of a Carson City holiday tradition that spans nearly 40 years are looking for families who wish to have Santa drop by their homes on Christmas Eve, courtesy of the Carson City Sheriff's Office Reserve Organization.
Each year for 37 years, the Santa Reserve program brings in sheriff’s office volunteers and reserve officers to make the special home appearances by Santa and his helpers for those families who sign up, said Tom Crawford, Carson City Sheriff's Office Reserve Commander, who has coordinated the program for the past 16 years.
Carson City residents who would like Santa to visit their home can call 775-283-4728 for details.
Please leave a message with Santa’s elves to include your name, address, contact phone number, number of children, location of gifts, and the approximate time you would like Santa to visit. Hours are limited to 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. Visits may vary 30 minutes on either side of the requested time.
The Santa Hotline will be available through Dec. 20, 2018. Santa visits are limited to the first 100 homes.
As always, any and all donations will be greatly appreciated by the Carson City Sheriff’s Reserve Organization. Proceeds are used to offset the costs of uniforms, training, and duty gear. Please join all the families who look forward to this annual event and become part of this Carson City tradition.
