Carson City sheriff’s arrest log: Man jailed on felony drug charges

A 28-year-old man was arrested Sunday, 3:30 p.m. in the 3200 block of Market Street on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Joshua Van Roy of South Lake Tahoe was also charged with a misdemeanor count of petit larceny after allegedly taking $213.40 in merchandise from Walmart, leaving the store without paying.
According to the arrest report, a deputy stopped for a pedestrian in the crosswalk in front of the store. A Walmart employee then ran up to the man, grabbed him by the arms and took the two bags of merchandise in his hands.
The officer ordered Van Roy toward the patrol vehicle. The officer asked the man what was going on and Van Roy told the officer he stole the merchandise because he has a drug problem, the arrest report states.
During a search deputies found a small baggie of suspected methamphetamine and pills in a rolled up knotted latex glove. The suspect told deputies the pills were ‘Norco’ a narcotic pain reliever. Bail: $5,352.
In other arrests:
— A 23-year-old Mound House woman was arrested Monday, 1:42 a.m. in the area of Rand and Long streets for two misdemeanor contempt of court warrants, one in Carson City and the other in Sparks, and a domestic battery warrant issued out of Lyon County Justice Court. $4,940.
— A 20-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Sunday, 11:15 a.m. on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of bail conditions, issued Oct. 12, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. He was held without bail in lieu of a hearing.
