Carson City road report for Dec. 2-8; traffic re-routed during Festival of Lights tree lighting
Here is the Carson City road maintenance and construction report for the week of Dec. 2-8: On Friday, Dec. 6, Carson Street will be closed between Fifth Street and Robinson Street from 4:30 p.m., to approximately 8 p.m. for the Silver and Snowflakes Festival of Lights in downtown Carson City. Detours will be signed.
Utility work at the intersection of E. Fifth Street and Saliman Road will result in sidewalk and lane closures at the southeastern corner of that intersection Monday through Wednesday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. All directions of travel will remain open, but there will be reduced lanes at the intersection.
There will be intermittent one-way flagger controlled traffic on Fifth Street between Saliman Road and the freeway overpass.
There will be sidewalk work along the south side of Silver Oak Drive between N. Carson Street and Imperial way.
The following roads will be closed from Monday through Thursday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. due to utility work. Only local resident access will be allowed:
· Mayflower Way between Nye Lane and Sherman Lane.
· Kit Sierra Way between Nye Lane and Sherman Lane.
There will be utility work at the following locations. No lane closures are expected.
· The south side of Hobart Road between Reds Grade and Numaga Pass Road.
· The south side of E. Fifth Street near Pasture Drive.
