Nevada gaming figures down in October, soar at Lake Tahoe
Casinos at south shore Lake Tahoe at Stateline continue to show a rebound, despite the closing of the Horizon Casino in April, with it subsequently opening as the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in January 2015. Gaming revenue at South Shore was up 52.75 percent for the month over October 2013 figures. North Lake Tahoe area casinos saw gaming revenue for the month climb to 10.40 percent.
Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $913,643,061 for the month of October 2014. This amounts to a 4.26 percent decrease compared to October 2013, when licensees reported a gaming win of $954,319,750.
For the fiscal year (July 1, 2014 through October 31, 2014), gaming win has decreased 3.29 percent.
Carson City area casinos include those in Gardnerville, Minden and all other areas of Douglas County except Stateline. In October, casinos took in gaming revenue from slots, and table games of $8,050,255. In October 2013 it was $8,073,373. The net was a loss of 0.29 percent.
