Carson Coffee to be replaced by Larry’s Gourmet Coffee of Dayton after nearly 25 years
Larry’s Gourmet Coffee, which opened its first location in Dayton around three years ago, announced its third expansion into Carson City. The second location can be found in C Street in Virginia City.
The coffee company will be taking over the location that Carson Coffee has inhabited since 1999. The company was first named Barista Brothers, and over the years has changed hands four times, most recently in 2020.
It is unknown why Carson Coffee is leaving the location.
Now the location will be christened again as Larry’s Gourmet Coffee, which prides itself on selling coffee the way it was made in the late 1800s. This includes coffee and loose leaf tea blends, and does not include decaffeinated coffee, “fake” sweeteners or syrups, or anything that wouldn’t have been found in the comstock (with some exceptions of course — debit cards have to be processed someway after all!)
At this time, Larry’s reported they hope to host a soft opening sometime in February with a Grand Opening planned for March 24. Until then, you can stop by either location in Dayton (65 Silver St.) or Virginia City (145 S. C St.).
