Carson City arrests: Man with warrant jailed after brief pursuit, high risk traffic stop
A 60-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested early Sunday in the area of Clear Creek Avenue and Horatio Lane for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant and failure to yield to a police officer, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, dispatch alerted a CCSO deputy of an outside agency request for a man who had an active warrant. A deputy located the vehicle the man was driving and attempted to make a traffic stop.
The vehicle failed to yield to the officer and continued eastbound on Clear Creek. Other deputies arrived and activated their sirens. The vehicle continued eastbound and turned on Horatio Lane.
Dispatch advised the suspect driver had a prior history of obstructing and resisting a peace officer, robbery and other felony charges. A high risk traffic stop was conducted and the man was taken into custody without incident at 1:09 a.m. Bail: $5,192.
— A 54-year-old Gardnerville man was placed in protective custody Saturday, 6:32 p.m. after officers were called for a report of a fight in the 4300 block of North Carson Street. According to the deputy report, officers made contact with the man who was highly intoxicated and had bruising under both of his eyes. The deputy asked the man if he had been in a fight.
The man was vague with his answers saying yes and no, the report states. He would not say if he was the victim of a battery. He voluntarily submitted to a preliminary breath test with a result of .408. He was asked, with negative results, if family or friends could pick him. He was taken into civil protective custody and transported to Carson Tahoe Hospital where he met with staff and was evaluated.
— A 30-year-old Carson City man, Terent Dee Remington, was arrested Sunday, 12:30 a.m. in the area of North Carson and West 4th Street for a felony warrant alleging possession a controlled substance and a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant.
The felony warrant was issued Nov. 13, 2018 out of East Fork Township Court. The bail amount was $15,000. The misdemeanor contempt of court warrant was issued Nov. 16 out of Carson City Justice Court. The bail amount was $1,000.
