Carson City arrests: Drunk teen with warrant calls sheriff's office after mom takes away car keys
A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday for a misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence warrant and for minor consuming alcohol.
According to the arrest report, the 19-year-old called Carson City dispatchers saying his mother took the keys to his car. Dispatch advised to arriving deputies he had an active, confirmed Carson Township warrant for his arrest.
Deputies arrived and took the man into custody. While speaking with him, deputies could smell a strong odor of alcohol on his person. The teen is under the age of 21 and is not permitted to consume alcohol. He provided a preliminary breath test of .267, the report states.
It is suspected the 19-year-old's mother took his keys away from him to prevent him from driving. Due to his level of intoxication, he was taken to the hospital for clearance and then to jail. Bail: $1,242.
In other arrests:
— A 45-year-old Gardnerville man, Matthew Wilburn Hovey, was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding. Bail: $2,500.
— A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday for a misdemeanor warrant alleging domestic battery. The warrant was issued Oct. 31, 2022 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.
— A 42-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday for a misdemeanor outside agency warrant out of Dayton Township Justice Court. Bail: $1,945.
