CARSON CITY — The Nevada Housing Division has received approximately $124 million to provide additional temporary rental and housing expense assistance through the CARES Housing Assistance Program. The CHAP program has served approximately 29,000 Nevadans to date. The additional funds are currently expected to help an estimated 20,000 households with rent and utilities.

Prescribed pile burning will take place again Monday in the Genoa area, according to the U.S. Forest Service. Smoke will visible throughout the Carson Valley along Highway 395 and in the town of Genoa. Local fire departments are aware of this project.

Hurrah for wet snow that came late last month! We had two feet of snow at our house. I don’t have to water the trees for at least a month. However, I did notice when I drove into town, that Carson City received much less snow.

Just before 4 p.m. a vehicle accident was reported involving a car and a school bus on Long and Molly in Carson City.

Ten years ago, Brenda Sandquist sat in a Carson City hair salon when she noticed a woman who had come in to get her hair done. Sandquist was shocked to see patches of hair missing from the woman's head.
