Carson City emergency crews respond to crash at South Carson Street and Old Clear Creek

Highway 50 at Lake Tahoe near Glenbrook in Douglas County was closed Sunday night due to a 3-vehicle crash in which one fatality was reported, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Mayor Lori Bagwell is scheduled to speak to the Carson City Host Lions Club on Tuesday, March 9 at noon at Tito’s Mexican Restaurant, 444 E William St. Mayor Bagwell will discuss the city’s accomplishments over the past year as well as talk about where the city is going over the 2021-22 fiscal year.

Carson City Fire Department was dispatched Sunday to an accident involving an ATV rider in the Brunswick Canyon area.

Ali Banister, Chief Juvenile Probation Officer for Carson City Juvenile Services, will be the guest speaker at this week’s Rotary Club of Carson City meeting. The virtual meeting takes place Tuesday, March 9 at 12:30 p.m. Guests are invited to attend. Banister will talk about the Juvenile Services that are available in Carson City. She will also address the current state of education during COVID and the mental toll it is taking on young people.

The Carson City Parks Department and the Friends of Silver Saddle Ranch will be jointly hosting a historical tour of Silver Saddle Ranch! From mining to ranching to outdoor recreation, Silver Saddle Ranch and the Carson River have been integral parts of Carson City's history, and remain important to this day. This tour will take you around the property and dive deep into the historical roots of the area.

During the Board of County Commissioners meeting held on March 4,2021, the Board provided policy direction on the Vacation Home Rental (VHR) Program.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance with locating a runaway juvenile. On December 14, 2020 Xavier Pierce ran away from his home in Carson City. Xavier is believed to be in the Carson City area and may be riding a red bicycle. Xavier does not have any medical problems and is not considered at risk.

Xavier is a white male juvenile. He is 17-years-old. He is approximately 5’6” and is 110 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. No clothing description.

Two Carson City motel rooms were officially condemned following a drug bust and arrest.

On 03/04/2021, at about 0830 hours, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team (SET) in collaboration with the Tri Count Gang Unit and the Nevada Department of Public Safety Investigations Division (NDI) executed a search warrant for two rooms at the Frontier Motel located at 1718 N Carson St in Carson City.
