Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Man booked for hit-and-run of occupied vehicle
A 25 year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday morning at 9:02 a.m. in the 10 block of College Parkway for misdemeanor hit-and-run following an investigation of an incident that had occurred the day before, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.
According to the arrest report, a Sheriff's deputy was originally dispatched to a parking in the 3700 block of N. Carson Street to investigate a hit-and-run involving a gray Infiniti sedan that had backed into another vehicle before leaving the scene.
A witness to the incident had been seated in the front passenger side of the victim's vehicle at the time of the collision, stating the suspect was very upset and cursed at him.
Per the victim, the suspect refused to give insurance information. He then reportedly got back into his vehicle and sped away.
The next morning, the investigating deputy located the suspect vehicle at a College Parkway apartment complex, the arrest report said. A records check of vehicle registration showed suspended. The suspect was later determined to be the registered owner's boyfriend, who also had prior law enforcement contacts.
The suspect was located inside an apartment asleep on a living room couch. Upon his identification, a records check through Carson City Dispatch showed two outstanding misdemeanor bench warrants for violation of a suspended sentence issued by the Carson City Justice Court, the report said.
The suspect was detained in handcuffs at that point and taken into custody. He admitted under Miranda warning to have backed into the victim's vehicle and left the scene of the accident. He also told the deputy that he had no vehicle insurance or valid driver's license.
The suspect was transported to the Carson City Jail for booking without incident. Bail: $8,178.
In other arrests:
— A 54 year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday night at 8:14 p.m. in the 10 block of Condor Circle on an outstanding felony bench warrant by the Carson City Justice Court, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.
James Oliver Woods was taken into custody after law enforcement was dispatched to his residence to serve a warrant. Contact was made with Woods and he was detained in handcuffs.
According to the bench warrant, Woods was arrested on a charge of possession of a credit card without cardholder's permission, a category D felony.
Woods was transported to the Carson City Jail, where he was booked. Bail: $5,000.
— A 32 year-old Carson City woman was arrested late Friday night at 10:49 p.m. in the 300 block of South Carson Meadows Drive for misdemeanor violation of bail conditions, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.
According to the arrest report, a Sheriff's deputy was dispatched to the area to perform a welfare check on a reportedly intoxicated female sleeping in front of a residence.
Upon arrival, the deputy located and made contact with the woman, who was sitting on the ground in front of a residence.
Her eyes were observed to be red and watery. Four 25-oz. Beer cans were observed on the ground next to the woman and one can was opened, the report said.
The woman identified herself to the deputy and reported she had locked herself out of her residence.
A records check through Carson City Dispatch showed the woman was currently on supervision with the Carson City Department of Alternative Sentencing (DAS) with a no alcohol clause, the report said.
The suspect admitted to having consumed four beers and been in possession of alcohol. Her DAS officer was notified and her arrest was requested for violating sentence.
The was detained in handcuffs at that point and taken into custody, transported to the Carson City Jail for booking without incident. Bail: $3,000.
