Weather: Early November continuing warm trend set in October
The National Weather Service reports that the month of October was warmer than average across Nevada this year despite also receiving above-average precipitation.
This trend of mild fall temperatures continues through the week following a ridge of high pressure that continues to build over the region. Daytime temperatures can be expected to reach 8-10 degrees above normal for this time of year, the NWS in Reno reports.
Daytime highs are forecast for the upper 60s to low 70s through the week, the NWS reports, with some clouds and very light winds to about five miles per hour.
Night time temperatures will also continue to be warmer than average for November with overnight lows in the upper 30s, the NWS reports, responding to a strong to moderate overnight inversion.
Sunday morning’s low dipped only to around 42 degrees, recorded by the NWS, due to a layer of cloud cover in skies over Carson City.
A weak weather system is expected to brush by the northern Sierra next weekend, but precipitation is expected to be light.
