Carson City arrests: Man jailed after deputies find fake $100 bill in wallet
A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday in the 3000 block of Highway 50 East for felony suspicion of being in possession of a counterfeit $100 bill and misdemeanor violation of pre-trial supervision.
Shawn Brunson was taken into custody at 6:56 p.m. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the area to investigate a suspicious vehicle. Officers made contact with the man who was acting erratic and possibly under the influence of drugs.
A computer check showed the man to be on pre-trial supervision with a no drugs, alcohol or paraphernalia clause. Department of Alternative Sentencing was contacted and they advised they were going to place a hold on him due to admission he had used meth. While searching the man’s wallet, a deputy found a counterfeit $100 bill. Bail: $13,000.
In other arrests:
— A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday in the 5100 block of Carson River Road for felony suspicion of possession of controlled substances for sales, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing an officer and juvenile probation hold.
Michael Lawrence Segna was arrested at 1:32 a.m. in the area of Lloyd’s Bridge. According to the booking report, the man gave officers a wrong name. Upon further investing the man gave a birthdate and officers learned of a warrant for his arrest through Carson City District Court.
The man advised he had a marijuana pipe in his backpack. He was arrested and taken to jail where officers located a large baggie of suspected methamphetamine and two smaller baggies of methamphetamine. Bail: $11,474.
— A 36-year-old Las Vegas man, Adonis DeLawrence Thompson, was booked into jail Tuesday, 3:11 p.m. for a felony fugitive from justice warrant issued out of Washington County, Oregon. He is being held without bail awaiting extradition.
— A 34-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday, 1:22 p.m. in the 2100 block of East William Street for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and obstruction. $1,549.
— A 61-year-old Gardnerville man was booked into jail Wednesday, 1:30 a.m. on a gross misdemeanor warrant for incident or obscene exposure. Bail: $1,500.
— A 61-year-old Gardnerville man was booked into jail Wednesday, 1:30 a.m. on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. Bail: $3,000.
— A 51-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 5:41 p.m. in the 2300 block of Fairmont Way for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, the suspect and his girlfriend were arguing. The victim stated the man grabbed her around her neck and started to squeeze.
The victim yelled for her son to call 911. When dispatch was called the man let go. The suspect said he grabbed the woman’s shoulder from behind to turn her around. He submitted to a preliminary breath test with a result of .181 and was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
— A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 12:35 a.m. in the 4000 block of Lepire on a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant, obstructing officers and minor consuming alcohol. Bail: $1,099.
— A 29-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Tuesday, 3:59 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant for alternative sentencing violation. Bail: $3,000.
