Pedestrian struck by vehicle at Carson and Fairview, Care Flight ordered
Carson City fire and ambulance crews responded Friday night to an accident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle at the intersection of Fairview and Carson streets. The accident was reported at 7:19 p.m.
A Care Flight air ambulance was ordered.
Arriving emergency crews say that one vehicle was involved with the victim, a pedestrian, on the pavement. Injuries are unknown at this time but serious enough to require air transport to a hospital trauma unit.
Traffic was re-routed around the accident scene along Fairview, with the eastbound lane temporarily blocked for a time. It was reopened at 7:45 p.m.
Care Flight landed at the DMV helicopter pad and transported the patient to Renown Medical Center in Reno. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
