Nevada Day Weekend Weather: Warm and sunny parade day and beyond
Heading into Nevada Day weekend, the forecast for Carson City calls for mostly sunny skies through Sunday with daytime highs in the mid 70s, according to the National Weather Service.
The weekend begins with an amplified ridge over the Silver State that will bring daytime high temperatures of 10-15 degrees above seasonal averages, generally light winds and clear skies, said NWS forecaster Evan LaGuardia.
“For Saturday it’s going to be a great day for the parade with temperatures continuing above seasonal average and clear skies from the Sierra crest to the valley floor,” said LaGuardia.
With some temperature variations, the forecast will remains this way through at least Tuesday. After that some weather models indicate the ridge may break down, making room for lingering low pressure systems and cooler conditions.
“Short term we’re going to have the same weather we’ve been experiencing. In the near future that pattern is expected to change,” he said.
