Gripping and suspenseful, 'Rope' returns for final Carson City weekend performances
Returning for its final weekend where theatre goers are transported into a live, black and white world of suspense and intrigue, local troupe Proscenium Players, Inc., rounds out Friday, Saturday and Sunday with "Rope," a gripping play originally created by Patrick Hamilton and later transformed into a cinematic masterpiece by the legendary Alfred Hitchcock.
The production is an immersive experience like no other, set entirely in black and white to captivate the senses of of viewers. This thrilling performance is intended for mature audiences, featuring themes of murder, alcohol and tobacco use.
"I really wanted to do something that was unique, challenging, and would be an experience for all," said Director Steven Segal, sharing his vision for this unique production. "My first-ever directorial play was this past season with 'Gaslight,' which was an incredible challenge in itself.
"Following that I really wanted to do something that not only would be equally as challenging story-wise, but wanted to further increase the difficulty and experience for the audience by replicating a black-and-white film appearance live on stage. I am extremely happy with the results and cannot wait to share them with our community"
