Readers capture images of hope, protection in Carson City

Amidst a string of brush fires that started up in the region over the past 24 hours and spread rapidly with the help of high winds, storm clouds did bring with them some moisture, which has provided some assistance to firefighters and left affected communities with an enduring sign of hope.
Carson Now readers captured images of rainbows appearing over the Nevada state capital, effectively reminding us all that even in the middle of catastrophe and chaos, there is some order to things.
There is beauty in ashes, too.
The communities of South Carson City, Washoe Valley, Galena and South Lake Tahoe would do well to recognize that the rainbows appearing over the area Friday represent the hope and protection that still exists.
Hundreds of firefighters and dozens of firefighting equipment are dedicated to working around the clock to save and preserve our communities from wildfire disaster.
And while some structures have been lost, the results could be much worse without the resources being dedicated to fight the fires.
Thank you to Carson Now readers who submitted their rainbow photos, reminding us of the hope and protection that still exists, even amidst the dark shroud of destruction.
