USN Blue Angels paint the skies over the Carson Valley, Carson City Saturday
All week long, the United States Navy Blue Angels flight team has been in the Carson Valley practicing and preparing for this weekend's Aviation Roundup at the Minden-Tahoe Airport, where they were the headlining act.
And all week long, residents and visitors to the Carson Valley and even Carson City were watching the air rehearsals.
The Blue Angels did not disappoint.
Taking off at around 3:15 p.m. Saturday, the six-fighter jet team took to the skies over the Carson Valley, painting the atmosphere with their high-level skills and showmanship.
The USN Blue Angels were the finale act for Saturday's opening day at the Aviation Roundup, and they will be back for an encore performance Sunday to wrap up the annual air show.
Gates to the Minden-Tahoe Airport open Sunday at 10 a.m. and the air show begins at 11:30 a.m.
Tickets are $20 in advance for adults; children ages 12-17 are $15; and a family pass is available for $50. VIP Flightline Lounge is sold out for Saturday. VIP tickets are still available for Sunday. Visit www.aviationroundup.com for more information or to purchase advance tickets. Or purchase discounted advance tickets in person at Raley's supermarket in Gardnerville, 1363 Highway 395 North.
