A weekend of fall events are lined up at Greenhouse Garden Center in Carson City, beginning Friday and Saturday with an old fashioned apple cider press available for anyone with apples, plus a pumpkin growing contest and free pesticide waste collection on Saturday.
Unconventional, monochrome theatrical feat 'Rope' opens this weekend in Carson City
In an audacious venture, the Proscenium Players, Inc. are set to defy the conventional with a groundbreaking black-and-white play, bringing to life the trials, tribulations and triumphs of creating an entirely grayscale spectacle. As the curtains prepare to rise on Friday Oct. 13, 2023, at the Brewery Arts Center's The Maizie in Carson City, theater enthusiasts are in for a treat.
Show dates are this Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., and matinee performances on Sunday Oct. 15 at 2 p.m. All performances will be held at the Brewery Arts Center's "the Maizie" theater, located at 449 W King St, Carson City.
Third Annual Art Studio Tour with Carson Valley Arts Council returns Oct. 14 - 15

Winter coat and sweatshirt drive underway for Carson City students in need through Nov. 17
As the winter season approaches, Carson City School District’s McKinney-Vento Students in Transition program is in need of new youth coats (boys & girls – all sizes) and new teen/junior sweatshirts and jackets (all sizes) for the winter season. The community-driven initiative aims at ensuring all students have access to warm clothing during the cold months.
