Carson City authorities respond to shooting near Airport Road
Carson City authorities have responded to a shooting tonight near Airport Road that may be gang-related.
The incident went down at about 10:30 p.m. No one was hurt and no property has been found to be damaged, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong. Several shell casings have been found. The shooting happened near Airport Road and College Parkway.
Deputies are looking for the suspect vehicle, a white Oldsmobile Cutlas or a Cadillac with spoke wheels. The driver is reportedly a bald male.
An apartment complex is also being searched, in what is being called a "crime scene" in the 3400 block of Airport Road.
Deputies are interviewing witnesses who said they were shot at several times by a man driving the car who yelled out a gang affiliation name as he was shooting.
Some of the witnesses said they were shot at, while others said the suspect may have opened fire in the air.
The last known gang-related shooting happened on Aug. 14 and resulted in several arrests. Click here and here for stories regarding the shooting.
