Nevada's Gov. Sandoval appoints CJ Manthe to PUC; Bruce Breslow to retire
CARSON CITY — Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval announced the appointment Friday of CJ Manthe to the Public Utilities Commission. Manthe will take the seat of current Commissioner Bruce Breslow who will retire effective Nov. 2.
“Bruce has dedicated years of service to the state of Nevada and I thank him for all he has given to my Administration since day one,” Gov. Sandoval said in a news release. “We wish Bruce the very best in his retirement.”
Manthe, currently the Director of the Nevada Department of Business and Industry, is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. Prior to her service as Director, Manthe served as the Housing Administrator in the Department of Business and Industry.
She is a certified public accountant with both public and private sector experience having worked in the fields of banking, healthcare, public accounting, non-profits and state and local governments. Previously she was elected to serve as a council member for the City of Blaine in Washington State and as a county commissioner for Marathon County in Wisconsin.
“CJ has been a valued member of my Cabinet as a strong and steady administrator and I am pleased to appoint her to the PUC,” Sandoval added. “For the first time in Nevada history, the PUC is now led by an all women Commission and I am confident that CJ will be a wonderful addition to the team.”
“It is an honor and privilege to be selected to serve on the Public Utilities Commission,” CJ Manthe said. “I look forward to working with my fellow commissioners to review and make decisions related to Nevada’s energy future.”
