Carson City sheriff's crime log: Man gives false name, kicks deputy during arrest

A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of felony providing false information to avoid prosecution, preventing or dissuading a victim from reporting a crime, and gross misdemeanor battery on an officer, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Jaime Pule was taken into custody at 6:45 p.m. in the 1800 block of East Long Street. He also faces two misdemeanor warrants charges and misdemeanor resisting a police officer.

According to the arrest report, a deputy observed a vehicle that did not stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Humboldt and Highway 50. The deputy attempted to reach the vehicle, a Toyota, and eventually located it in a parking lot in the 1800 block of East Long Street.

Pule gave an identity, which it turned out wasn’t his own. Officers learned the Toyota was registered to the man’s mother. She was advised of the situation and said her son didn’t have permission to be driving the vehicle and she would be responding. When she arrived on scene, she identified Jaime Pule as her son. The suspect stood up and began yelling at his mom and continued to state he was the name that he had given the officer, the arrest report states.

A deputy attempted to detain the man who began to pull away. Another deputy grabbed the man’s right arm and pushed him against the rear of the Toyota. As the officer attempted to place handcuffs on the man, he continued to try and pull away from both deputies. The man then began kicking one of the deputies before the handcuffs were secured. Bail: $19,912.

A witness stated she saw the couple arguing and saw the man throw the woman against the side of the house. Deputies spoke with the suspect who was grossly intoxicated. He told deputies the woman had run him over with her truck. A deputy asked the man what happened prior to the incident with the truck. Upon arrival the deputy and responding deputies had already located the male, however, he fled the deputies on foot.

He voluntarily and freely submitted to a preliminary breath test with a result of .167, the arrest report states. At around 1:41 a.m. he was arrested for disorderly conduct.
