Carson City arrests: Jail inmate booked for tearing up mattress, putting it in toilet
A 28-year-old Silver Springs man and an inmate at Carson City Jail faces a misdemeanor destruction of property charge after allegedly tearing up his jail-issued mattress and putting it in the toilet bowl, a sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, a deputy conducting a check of the jail cell in which the man was housed by himself revealed that the mattress, valued at $60, had been ripped open and the foam from inside the mattress was inside the toilet. The man was arrested for destruction of jail property. Bail: $622.
In other arrests:
— A 25-year-old Carson City man, Sean Douglas Campbell, was arrested Monday in the 1300 block of Sharon Drive for a felony burglary warrant issued out of Reno Township Court, a gross misdemeanor destruction of property warrant, and a misdemeanor warrant for violation of a temporary protection order. Bail: $26,000.
An 18-year old man with Campbell was also arrested for two misdemeanor warrants out of Sparks Justice Court. The warrants are for failure to appear, issued April 21, 2017 and contempt of court, issued April 27, 2017. Bail: $1,160.
— A 34-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Monday, 3:25 p.m. for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Dec. 28, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 44-year-old Sparks man was booked into jail Monday, 3:25 p.m. for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued August 9, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $224.98.
— Two from Carson City, a 33-year-old man, and a 34-year-old woman were arrested Monday in the area of Stewart and 7th Street on misdemeanor charges.
According to the arrest report a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle that returned from a dispatch check as suspended from Nevada DMV.
The deputy made contact with the male driver, who identified himself and female passenger who said she didn’t have identification and gave a deputy what turned out to be a phony name. The deputy did a local check and a photo check which matched the female passenger's. She was listed as a protected person from the 33-year-old man. The man was placed into custody for violation of a temporary protection order and driving a vehicle with suspended registration.
The 34-year-old woman was arrested for obstructing an investigation by providing false information and violation of Department of Alternative Sentencing conditions, among them were not to be in contact with the man and to obey all laws. Bail for the woman: $3,300. Bail for the man: $3,112.
