Carson City sheriff's deputies make arrests for warrants, alcohol related offenses
A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of misdemeanor driving on a revoked license for DUI, a Carson City sheriff's deputy report said.
According to the arrest report, a deputy ran the license plate number of a vehicle in the area of Centennial Park, which returned with the driver having a revoked license for DUI that was to end Oct. 8, 2019.
The deputy made a traffic stop and met with the driver, who confirmed he knew he was not supposed to be driving. He was taken into custody. Bail: $1,137.
In other arrests:
— A 64-year-old Reno man was booked Monday into Carson City Jail for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued April 17, 2019 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $10,000 cash only.
— A 35-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Tuesday for a misdemeanor warrant, alleging harassment, issued Sept. 12, 2019 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $2,500.
— A 43-year-old transient was arrested Tuesday, 7:08 p.m. in the area of North Lompa and Northridge for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant, driving on a suspended driver's license and unable to provide registration.
According to the arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop on a moped because the vehicle did not have a license plate. The officer asked the man for his license, proof of registration, in which he was unable to provide.
The deputy asked dispatch to check the man for warrants, which came back with a contempt of court warrant issued April 24, 2019 out of Carson City Justice Court. He was taken into custody. Bail: $964.
— A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 6:27 p.m. in the area of 20 College Parkway for misdemeanor criminal contempt.
According to the arrest report, deputies were responded to an apartment complex regarding a probation violation. An anonymous reporting party advised to dispatch the man had been consuming alcohol. It was reported the man is on probation with the Department of Alternative Sentencing and has a "no alcohol" clause, the arrest report states.
Deputies made contact with the man who provided a preliminary breath test of .07. He stated he had been stressed out because he lost his job and that he consumed alcohol. He was read his Miranda warning and agreed to speak. He told the deputy he had consumed approximately 8 shots of alcohol at around 5 p.m. Dispatch advised the Department of Alternative Sentencing of the violation, which then requested he be arrested for the alcohol violation. Bail: $500.
