Carson City Fire Department sends brush team to Palomino Valley wildfire
UPDATE MONDAY: The Pioche Fire held at 80 acres overnight and remains at 15 percent containment, according to Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District. The fire was sparked by a welder.

UDPATE 2:19PM: Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District says the Pioche Fire has grown to at least 100 acres, with zero containment.

Carson City Fire Department has sent a brush team for structure protection due to a fast moving wildfire that began late Sunday morning in Palomino Valley northwest of Spanish Springs in Washoe County.
The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District said air attack support and mutual aid for 5 additional brush engines have been called in as structures are threatened. Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center reports as of 2:05 p.m. the fire is around 70 acres and moving away from homes. The fire is in the area of Ironwood and Wilcox Ranch roads.
