The Nevada Commission for Women is looking ahead to the 2019 Legislature
The Nevada Commission for Women was established in 1991, but due to a lack of governor appointed board members the group was dormant for nearly 20 years until Governor Brian Sandoval revived the commission and appointed 10 members in 2015.
The commission formally studies the evolving roles of women in society with special attention to the socioeconomic factors that influence women’s status. The group recommends legislation and studies proposed laws for potential impact on women. For more, Coordinator of the Nevada Commission for Women Molly Walt stopped by the KNVC studios for a chat.
