V&T Railroad offers offbeat options for weddings, business events
When’s the last time you attended a wedding aboard a train? Or has your business ever broken the mold to conduct a rolling meeting? Brides, grooms and meeting planners searching for a memorable venue for upcoming events need look no further than the Virginia & Truckee Railroad. The historic train has expanded its unique rental offerings for weddings, corporate events, family reunions and other special occasions.
A popular destination for weddings and honeymoons, the Reno/Carson City/Tahoe area offers first-rate venue options with the V&T Railroad providing an inimitable and refreshing option for couples searching for a notable setting for their guests. The history and Old West allure aboard an authentic steam locomotive will make for an unforgettable evening for “I do.”
The 1890s Victorian-era parlor car with period furnishings and charm reminiscent of the Golden Age of Rail can seat up to 30 guests. For groups that prefer complete privacy, the entire train may be rented to seat up to 144 passengers.
The V&T Railroad offers an alternative to windowless conference board rooms and uninspired reunions with options for group outings for corporations and family events. A journey through the rolling hills of the Comstock-era right of way to Virginia City, a town ripe with a colorful history of robber barons, miners, gunslingers and dance halls is bound to boost morale and inspire.
A group of 10 to 20 passengers receive a 10 percent discount on Sunday roundtrip rides to Virginia City and a group of 20 or more passengers qualifies for a 25 percent discount on any roundtrip to Virginia City, as well as discounts on Toast of the Canyon Wine Tasting Trains and Dinner and Melodrama Trains. Groups of 20 or more riding one way to Virginia City may also apply a 20 percent discount. (http://bit.ly/VT17Groups)
