All schools in Washoe County School District will be closed Wednesday due to Davis Fire
Based on extensive discussions with public safety officials and considering the erratic behavior seen from the Davis Fire and deteriorating conditions, all schools in the Washoe County School District will be canceled Wednesday, Sept. 11.
Cancelling schools is not a decision we take lightly, but we must ensure the safety of all our students, families, and school staff while helping area public safety staff.
The Davis Fire remains uncontained and is impacting our community significantly.
Gov. Joe Lombardo's State of Emergency declared remains in effect for Washoe County. As well as public safety concerns based on the forecast.
Once again, all classes have been canceled for Wednesday, Sept. 11th. There will be no before or after school activities or sports practices.
