Two injured at Warms Springs prison in Carson City, Care Flight ordered
UPDATE: 2:45PM: An inmate was taken by Care Flight for a stab wound following a fight at the Correction Center yard at Warm Springs, according to Department of Corrections Public Information Officer Brooke Keast. The injury was non-life threatening. A second inmate was shot with pellets and did not suffer serious injuries and was not transported. No corrections officers were injured.

UPDATE: Carson City Fire Department was called Friday morning to the Warm Springs Correctional Center off of Fifth Street for an incident involving an inmate that was reportedly shot with pellets. Care Flight air ambulances have been ordered.
The situation began after 9:30 a.m. when dispatch was called for a report of two injured at the prison. Rescue crews from Carson City arrived on scene and reported one person with non-penetrating shotgun pellet injuries to the face.
Carson Now originally reported that a corrections officer was injured. We have asked the Department of Corrections for clarification of this and are awaiting a reply.
Inside the prison area, firefighters arriving on scene were alerted that tear gas had been deployed. At least one Care Flight helicopter was ordered with a second one on standby.
