Carson City arrests: Man booked for felony embezzlement warrant
A 45-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Tuesday for a felony warrant alleging embezzlement, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Stephen Patrick Hanson was booked at 8:28 a.m. after turning himself in on the warrant, which was issued August 22, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. The case is being prosecuted by the Nevada Gaming Commission, according to the arrest report. No other details were available. Bail: $10,000.
In other arrests:
— A 53-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Wednesday morning for suspicion of second offense misdemeanor domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called after 4 a.m. to the 1200 block of East 5th Street for a domestic situation. Deputies met with the suspect and a female, the only two people inside an apartment.
During the investigation, a deputy learned the man was angry and upset because the victim had forgot the couple’s two year anniversary. They had been in a dating relationship for two years and live together, the report states.
The man advised the woman was sleeping on sofa while he was drinking. He advised he became angry and slapped the woman while she was sleeping. He said the woman woke up and they argued and then she went back to sleep on the sofa. The victim said that she was awoken again by being slapped in the face a second time by the man.
The woman had red marks on the side of her face. The man was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery, second offense. Bail: $5,000.
— A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 10 a.m. in the area of Roop and William Street at a grocery store parking lot for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery.
According to the arrest report, the suspect and his brother were driving to their parents house Monday and got into a verbal argument with each other over football. During the argument, the brother who was driving was hit in the mouth by his brother who hit him with the back of his hand. The victim brother stopped his vehicle in front of 4600 Goni Road and told his brother to get out of the car, the arrest report states.
The victim brother showed deputies the inside of his lower lip where he had bruising in the shape of his teeth. Deputies took photos and collected a witness statement. Deputies then went to the man’s house where he lives with his parents. The suspect wasn’t home.
The following day, Tuesday, the suspect was pulled over by sheriff’s deputies for an unrelated traffic violation. Deputies spoke with the man who admitted to hitting his brother with the back of the hand. He was arrested for domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
— A 22-year-old transient and inmate at Carson City Jail was served with two misdemeanor fugitive from justice warrants on Tuesday, 6:10 p.m. The warrants were issued out of Placer County, Calif. Bail: $50,000.
— A 34-year-old Carson City woman was booked into Carson City Jail on Tuesday, 8:04 p.m. for a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence. The warrant was issued April 21, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
