Suspect dead, Lyon County deputy suffers minor injuries in Silver Springs shooting
Lyon County Sheriff's Office reports an officer involved shooting incident Monday night in Silver Springs in which a suspect was shot and died at the scene of a domestic battery call and a deputy sustained minor injuries.
The incident happened in the 3000 block of Second Street in Silver Springs after the sheriff's office dispatch center received two 911 calls regarding a physical domestic battery. Deputies arrived at 6:48 p.m. and were attacked by a male suspect on scene and shots were fired, according to a LCSO news release.
One deputy sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital, one deputy was uninjured, and the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Nevada Division of Investigation and the Washoe County forensics team are taking over the investigation.
At this time there is no further information being released and all names of those involved are being withheld as the investigation is currently underway.
